There have been a lot of changes in the industry since then, including increased  regulation of tree maintenance and removal, the availability of more powerful and specialized equipment, and research that changed tree care strategies. Jon recognized that one thing that remained constant throughout the years was the failure of companies that didn’t make safety and customer service  their priority. In 2001, Jon opened Westerlund Tree Service, determined to excel in these areas, and they have remained the driving force in the business ever since.

One of the biggest changes for the company occurred in 2015, when Westerlund Tree Service joined forces with Tree King, a successful South Kitsap tree service company owned by Mike King. Mike and his company had a solid reputation for exceptional customer service, safety and honesty, and the partnership gave the new venture a depth of expertise not found in other tree service companies.

The safety of our customers, their property, and our workers is hands down the most important part of our business. Every year, hundreds of workers in the tree service industry are severely injured or killed.  In addition, millions of dollars in property damage claims are filed because unskilled companies promise good work for unbelievably low prices, and then have accidents on the job which cost everyone money. There’s no big holes, no torn up lawn. We lower big limbs by rope so that structures and surrounding landscape are left unscathed. Debris is chipped and hauled away.
